Cable Assemblies & Harnesses
Habia Cable first started manufacturing cable harnesses in the early '80s due to a request from the Swedish Ministry of Defence.   Ever since, we have been actively involved in harnessing for various defence and industrial projects.

Habia Cable has recently expanded its manufacturing capacity by setting up a new factory in Liepaja, Latvia, for production of military and industrial type harnesses. We are producing both sealed PMR-100 moulded harnesses and heat shrink military types.

In addition we have a factory in Changzhou, China for production of telecom type harnesses.

Typical Industries where Habia Cable is involved:
? Nuclear
? Defence
? Gas Turbines
? Medical
? Industrial Power Tools
? Sensors
? Seismic

Our capabilities
Habia Cable is actively involved in many defence and industrial projects. Our capabilities allow us to manufacture both point-to-point and multi-branched harnesses.

Our harnesses are based on our own manufactured wires and multicore cables. The harness design is made in Auto Cad format and we are happy to guide you in selecting the right harness management components like heat shrink boots and backshells.

Electrical testing
Habia Cable’s standard practice is 100% electrical testing and visual inspection on all cables and harnesses.   To aid our harness testing we have a number of computerised automatic testing machines with up to 512 measuring points and are able to test up to 1500V DC or 1000V AC.

Prototyping services
Habia Cable’s dedicated department has the ability to hand lay virtually any multicore cable and provide prototype harnesses in relatively short timescales.

Spiral cable
Habia Cable is offering spiral cables generally jacketed with our own HFS-100 jacket or other suitable jacket materials. Our manufacturing of spiral cables can be to any length, with quantities only limited by the minimum order quantity of the required cable.

Sealed moulded systems
Habia Cable uses a two part Polyurethane moulded system using our own, well provenPMR-100 system.   This material has been proven to withstand millions of twisting and bending cycles and is selected as a vital part in fabricating harnesses to the market leader in industrial power tools.

Working samples and prototypes can be produced very quickly.

The customer need only supply a turned or milled model of the required shape of the moulding and we can then make a silicone tool for the prototypes.

The PMR-100 system
Our PMR-100 system is a cold process where both metal and plastic connectors can be overmoulded.    Adherence to plastic connectors needs to be verified on prototypes.   PMR-100 moulded systems have been developed for use together with our jacket material HFS-100 and will provide a chemical bonding between the materials.   Adherence to metals such as aluminium, brass or stainless steel is excellent.

Gas turbines
Habia Cable is supplying off-engine high temperature cables, assemblies and harnesses to aero derivatives and mainframe turbines.   Our cables are custom designed and available in any configuration needed with low minimum order quantities.   Habia Cable has a long proven track record in this area especially in supplying harnesses to General Electric type gas turbines that go back to the first delivery to the Stena marine packages in 1993.

High temperature
Habia Cable’s design of high temperature harnesses are field repairable types with PTFE insulated cables and normally stainless steel armour.   Our harnesses are designed to meet the requirements within the turbine enclosure and temperature rated to +205°C (+400°F) and resistant to the oils and lubricants used in turbines.   These harnesses are considered to be faster to install due to our pushback braid/armour solution.   Connectors and backshells are normally made in stainless steel and built to the military specification MS3450 and M83723 series.   Contacts are gold plated unless made in thermocouple materials like Chromel, Alumel and qualified to M39029 specification.   All our high temperature harnesses are potted with easily removable compound to prevent water ingress and sealed with high temperature Viton heat shrink boots.

Military type harnesses
Habia Cable is supplying both point-to-point and multi-branched harnesses to some of the major defence manufacturers. In addition, we have developed some harness management products such as harnbraid, which is an electrical braid supplied on a former.   Habia Cable have a variety of cable types that meet many approvals within the defence industry.   For example, multicore cables jacketed with specially developed materials such as TPS 125 XL and HFS 107 XL.

Armoured Fighting Vehicles & Land Systems
Space is at a premium in the close confines of an armoured vehicle.   Increased sophistication of vehicle systems makes interconnection difficult, if not seemingly impossible.   Our high flexibility, custom designed cables and harnesses provide the perfect solution for ease of installation.   They also meet the stringent mechanical, environmental and NBC hardened requirements of the latest interconnection specifications including the German BWB’s VG 95218 specification.   Habia Cable products like Hi-flex and our jacket material TPS 125 XL is especially suitable within this area.

Navy and Naval Systems
Habia Cable have a range of thin wall, zero-halogen, cross linked naval concept cables that offers an impressive fire performance in it's small lightweight rugged design.   HFS 107 XL jacketed cables meet and are approved to the defence standard 61-12 parts 9, 18, 25 and 31.   With our naval concept cables it is possible to achieve weight and space savings up to 40% against standard marine cables.
