General Information
Designed to meet the stringent requirements of Def Stan 61 12 Part 18 Issue 5, HFI 140 has the many benefits of a dual wall insulation, coupled with those of a thin wall equipment wire.
Though originally designed for the defence industry, the product is rapidly finding uses in high spec. civilian use, not least of which is that of UK London Underground: Section 12 applications (stations, platforms, escalators etc. where people are present) thanks to its excellent fire smoke and toxicity performance.
The material is tough and highly abrasion resistant. It is very good in both water and fire whilst it's component layers also make it excellent for use in radiation.
